+1 to the Hunger Games.

I actually don't mind first person, but it seemed like a poor choice for this series. Not only did it drain a lot of the tension from key moments, Katniss was really hard to connect to on an emotional level, and her apparent inspirational charisma didn't feel at all plausible to me. I get what Collins was trying to do wrt trauma response, but she didn't really have the writing chops to pull it off.
