Are you kidding me?!
Not to say that him reading it wouldn't be hot, but T.S Eliot's Wasteland is probably one of the most beautiful works or modern liturature like.... ever! And, while it may be obscure, it isn't something most people consider hard to read. It's so unspecific that it is easy to apply to oneself.
How can someone 'slog' through Burial of the Dead? "April is the cruelest month" doesn't grab your attention?

Okay wow, I guess "slog" was the wrong word to use.

It's not that I don't get the themes or I don't appreciate the literature, but yeah, my first time reading through it I went in cold and the allusions flew straight over my head. Yes, it's obscure. How do you fully appreciate and understand the frequent references to fishing when you don't know the legend of the Fisher King, you know?
