I can kind of get what you're saying OP because I always liked female Ranma more then male Ranma, maybe it's Hayashibara Megumi's voice but she always felt cuter.

I mean Ranma is an ass no matter what but I understand feeling like there is a slight difference.

Ranma 1/2 secret, yay~! I reread the manga a little while ago and I'm currently watching the anime because I never finished it (grew up watching the LA dub, now watching the English one), so this secret is relevant to my interests. I ship Akane with Ranma and Ranko, but I do think their interactions are much cuter when Ranma's a girl. Not sure why, since Ranma's a jerk either way.

Akane seemed a lot sweeter when she thought Ranma was female. Or so that's what I remember from the first episode.

I shipped Ryoga and Ranko.

See but she became very hostile towards the way he used the transformation or just the fact that he had the curse... Ukyo is the one who seemed the most down with it, so Ukyo/Ranko is my ship.

Yeah, Ranma was sneaky as hell but Akane was pretty violent, which I guess was the reason I never really shipped it. Ukyo is such a qt pie I would be down with that ship!

There's a late chapter where Ranma (because of some artifact/spell/curse, of course) falls in love with Ryoga. It's one-sided for maximum discomfort for Ryoga, but there's a moment of potential relevancy to interest (tame nsfw, sorry for long url):

Oh my goodness! This is definitely relevant to my interests too. :3c I heard about this chapter (something about a fishing cane) but never got around to reading it. Maybe it's a good time to do so.

I always thought Ranko and Akane were cuter, due to Akane's hatred of boys, which ended up disappearing really early in the beginning of the manga for...reasons?

I got the feeling Akane is more bothered by guys who figure they can just declare or fight their way into a relationship with her, and most of them back off after Ranma arrives. And Ranma does get set up, story-wise, as someone who could make her start thinking that maybe boys aren't so bad (like when he sincerely tries consoling her after she truly realizes her crush won't be reciprocated, whereas every other guy she's met up until then would simply think of her as "available for taking" or not really care).

I feel the same way, I thought Ranma as a girl was much more likeable. It's like a whole separate character.
