as I can find. I also coo over babies whenever I see them while
out shopping or on places like youtube.
But in real life I have no interest in having children. Even family
members saying “you’ll want them one day” annoy me.
The only children I find remotely interesting are fictional or
someone else’s.

In my case it's mainly more because I don't really have the money or means to properly care for a child right now than anything else, but even if I did, being a mom isn't the biggest priority on my list.

And it's a lot different having a kid and dealing with that level of responsibility 24/7 then it is being around them momentarily and being able to 'give them back'. And of course fictional children, you don't have to interact with them at all.
So I understand this. I'm not a massive kidfic fan, but I have read a handful I've enjoyed; I just don't go looking for them.
