I don't even hate the show as much as I hate the fandom, so I can see why this is a secret.

Saaame. I just think the Rose as Pink Diamond theory is annoying and cliche at this point - I'm fine with "Rose was not as purely good as the Crystal Gems speak about her" theories, but her being Pink Diamond is SO not something I like.

I hate the Rose is Pink Diamond theory. It just does not make sense to me no matter how many times I try to give it a chance.

Personally I think what's left of Pink Diamond is going to be part of the Cluster.

The writers have said flat-out that Rose is a real Quartz, and I don't think they've ever directly lied about something, even to avoid spoilers. Plus, Rose compares to the other Quartzes in the show. Same height as Jasper, and a similar body mass, though hers is projected in a way that doesn't look as brawny. Amethyst's body type could be a short version of either Jasper's or Rose's.

Facts aside, imo the theorizing would only cross into fatphobia if you were saying "she must be fat for some plot-relevant reason, she can't just happen to be overweight." Wild speculation about SU's worldbuilding -- and then trying to work out whether the evidence backs it up or not -- is half the fun of the show.

Oh wow cool, might I take a moment to say I'm a big fan of "But I'm a Cat Person," as well as enjoying many of your fics (particularly the Oz ones).

Yeah no I wasn't thinking that way until I saw the disparity in size between her and the confirmed diamonds. I hadn't heard the crew's "Real Quartz," comment and am just going off the lack of a Pink Diamond on the newer structures. Even real quartz isn't proof positive, since quartz is sometimes mistaken for diamonds? I dunno... wherever it goes that's fine with me.

So I didn't think there had to be a reason for her to be fat, just a reason for her not be tall if she was part of the diamond authority.

Seems likely that Pink Diamond was destroyed or dethroned during the war. My favorite theories right now are (a) Rose killed Pink Diamond as part of the rebellion, or (b) the Diamonds are fusions, and Rose used to be half of one (possibly with Lion as the other half).

I don't think her weight is really equal to the size of diamond redistributed.

But if you're looking for way to work the Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond theory, how about the one that thinks the Diamonds are really just fusions of a bunch of other gems. And that means Rose might have been a part of Pink Diamond, which would make her smaller and unrecognizable and why we don't hear of a current Pink Diamond.

If they have anything to do with each other, I think Pink Diamond is Rose Quartz "mother". Or they just happen to be rosy colored gems. I love how deep and hardcore the lore of SU is but people overdo it. (because Fandom)

I don't watch the show, but maybe the reason you don't see Pink Diamond in thise indows is because they pulled an Egypt thing. The Ancient Egyptians tried to erase Hatshepsut from history by destroying as many murals, documents, statues, etc as they could. So maybe the Diamonds did something similar regarding her status?

My assumption is that Lion is just the energy from Rose's physical form detached from her Gem now that that Gem is attached to Steven.
