If you don't want to look up the history or words, you could at least do yourself a favor and look up their definitions. Because there was nothinv histrionic about that statement.

Is histrionics considered offensive now? AFAIK it's a historically (gender-)neutral term for melodrama.

Yeah as far as I know the etymology is related to actors, not women.
