That wolf packs were set up with Alpha/Omega dynamics.

That "Tranny" was just short for Transsexual/Transgender and didn't mean anything bad.

That rabbits were rodents.

That the carbonation in soda was actually bugs swimming around.

Tranny used to be acceptable slang fot transsexuals or transvestite. It's only the last few years it's been struck off the list.

um, maybe for trans people referring to one another, but I can assure you trans people have disliked that term for a very long time

"A very long time" is a very weird phrase to use here, given how absolutely transformed the visibility and culture around trans people has become just in the last ten years.

NA

Yeah, I definitely remember people who were PC and socially conscious using the word quite freely as recently as ten years ago. Whether trans people found it offensive or not, most people who weren't trans simply didn't know and had never heard a word to suggest that was the case.

I'd say it depends on the person in question. Sure, tranny can be used in a derogatory manner, but it's also a thing that seems perfectly chill if someone uses it to describe themselves.

"Tranny" is also what mechanics call a car's transmission, FWIW.
