I thought Persia was a fantasy land, like Narnia.

I thought the Arctic was a country called Arctica, to match Antarctica, which I thought was also a country.

I didn't think Persia was fictional, since I'd read up a lot about Ancient Greece and their wars with Persia, but I assumed it wasn't really a place anymore.

I mean, there is some truth in that since it's Iran now, but I didn't even make that connection.

nayrt - I had an old globe as a kid that I'm pretty sure had Persia on it. So I think I believed it still existed, for a while.

Man, I loved that globe...
