I read the first in the Temeraire series. Haven't picked up the rest. Do the sequels focus on the same set of characters and location?

Same characters, yes, for the most part. Not always England, though. Book two is set in China, another in Africa, yet another in Australia, and the one I'm reading now is set in South America.

Even this late in the series, I'm still really enjoying them.

I thought the first book was okay. Nothing spectacular, but pretty neat in some cases with likable enough characters.

I loooooooooooooooooved Uprooted though. And it makes me think I might want to read the rest of the Temeraire series.

The first book was good, but I think Throne of Jade and Empire of Ivory are the best. I haven't read Uprooted yet, but it's on my wish list.
