Completely agreed with this post. I know some people have complained about how, when people they know find out they write fanfic, are like, "Why aren't you writing original fiction instead?" Like writing stories isn't worthwhile unless you're planning to make money off it for a living. They can't seem to comprehend the idea that for some people, writing stories is a hobby, just like many other hobbies.

Myself, I do hope to get original work published someday, but whether I do or not, I'll still keep writing both that and fanfiction simply because, like you said, it's a fun activity :). I've been writing ever since I was little, and it's something I've always enjoyed doing, so I'll keep at it. Simple as that.
