So I don't usually buy into the "OMG PERFECT QUEENS WHO SLAY!" thing, but if I was ever going to have a queen, it would have been Amber Rose. She's so fucking badass and hot, and the shaved head thing is just so sexy in a "Fuck your hetero-normative standards!" kinda way. Plus all the work she does to fight against the assorted injustices women and minorities face...

Then she shamed Kanye West by implying he had some homosexual tenancies because he liked to get penetrated. Yes. I know he came at her with sexism, and he came at her child before she even got involved, and while I appreciate the "I'm a mother-bear and I will murder all you love if you come at me" spirit of it, it just doesn't feel right. Does that make sense? It's like "I care about fighting opression, but when it get's personal I will tell the world you're a f****t and shame you for it"

TL;DR, Try not to learn anything about your perfect queens who slay.

I'm sorry, but I have never quite understood how what she said was shaming. It was a relevant reply in context because it undercut the claims that he was making, but I didn't read anywhere in what she said the implication that assplay was shameful or bad.

I think there was the definite implication that this made him less of a man, and with that implication that the act itsself is something real (read straight) men don't do.

Like, she could have said any other sexual thing he was into. "You're just made I don't blow you anymore" for example, and it wouldn't have had the same "Fuck you, this is my revenge" vibe to it. She said it to shame and silence him, and god knows he needed to be silenced, but using this feel cheep and homophobic.

I''d like to believe it wasn't from a homophobic place, but that's just not how it seems to me.

I think it's targeted at his sexual judgmental-ness, but I don't think homophobia or manliness is necessarily a part of that, I guess.

nayrt, I didn't see any homophobic implications there, but that depends on personal baggage, I guess. I agree with the above poster, that it was targeted at his sexual judgmental-ness, which is extreme. He's dragged her time and again for being a stripper and saying she was so dirty that he had to take 30 showers after being with her.

If he's now embarrassed about what she revealed, then that means he has an opportunity to learn a valuable lesson about judging other people on their sexual history.

No, I don't feel bad for him. I feel bad for any gay men who were hit with that "Assplay is something you need to be ashamed of because you're not a real man" implication she was using.

I agree, two wrongs don't make a right. Her implication was homophobic for sure. I understand why she did it, and Kanye was a shitstain for dragging her into it and insulting her child, but yeah, I wish she had handled it better.

She didn't imply he had homosexual tendencies, she simply revealed something about him that she knew he would be embarrassed about.

Now, of course, the reason that act is considered more embarrassing than other sex acts is that people associate it with homosexuality, so maybe she would have been better to not perpetuate the idea that fingering someone's ass is shameful by using it against him...

I'm not sure gay men count as a marginalized group any more.

No, hear me out, they have more political social and economic power than almost any women or minority in the world.

No-one is beating them to death any more. Unlike Trans women.

No-one is depriving them of any rights. PoC's in the legal system.

No-one is trying to take their rights away from them, unlike how women reproductive rights are constantly being attacked.

They don't even face corrective rape any-more, unlike lesbians in the fucking US where it is still legal in some states.

People do try to take their rights away (gay marriage, being able to see your partner in the hospital, etc.) and some people do beat up men who are or are assumed to be gay.

They may not be as marginalized as trans women or lesbians (or lesbian trans women), but they have fewer privileges and less power than straight men.

I just do see that.

you know there are parts of the world where the government considers being gay worthy of the death penalty?

And in those parts of the world women are still treat worse. No-one in the middle east is allowed to be happy, but gay men are not worse of than anyone else.

You are literally wrong. Just confining the discussing to the US, there are many jurisdictions where it is still perfectly legal to discriminate against gay people in hiring etc. where it would be absolutely forbidden to discriminate on the basis of race or sex.

8/10, although you spoil it in the last line.

I was kind of okay with "perfect queen" Beyonce, but this Hymn for the Weekend collab video was a real slap in the face. There was just...so, so much wrong with all of that, from what she was wearing, to the rampant stereotypes of India and its people...honestly, I just don't know what to do with this information.
