No, seduction was (and should still be) a sex crime because you are tricking women into fucking you.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-30 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
*This is what feminists believe.*

(Anonymous) 2016-01-30 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
It's what fucking IS. Seduction is literally deceiving women into sleeping with you. You know what using deceit to trick a woman into having sex with you is called in most right minded legal systems? Rape by deception.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-30 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
lmao are you for real

(Anonymous) 2016-01-30 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
but its alright when women seduce men, right?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-30 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Look, I'm generally no fan of seduction. I'll even go as far as to say that the way it's often depicted/practiced kind of skeeves me out.

But conflating seduction with sexual assault, or saying it's practically rape, is really messed up. Like, that's something that goes beyond even hyperbole. And I'm a feminist.

Sigh... and us 'feminists' want to take over the world and enslave all men as well, right?

Instead of sounding like an idiot, how about actually educating yourself on what feminism actually is?

This is not what the word 'seduction' means.

I was gonna say, I've never heard that word used in that context. Ever. I won't argue that some seduction attempts can be over the top and creepy, but that's an awfully extreme view of the mere concept of seduction itself.

Seduction usually isn't deception so much as persuasion. I guess that can seem like a "trick," particularly to someone who's very sex-negative, but it's a long, long way from rape-by-deception.
