I feel like I'm invested in the new characters, but not the new storyline if that makes sense. Like I've been reading all the fics for certain characters and ships. But I was so invested in the EU (or at least parts of it) that I still feel like a lot of it is still my personal headcanon.

I did like the characters and I will fight for my positivity that Finn is a Skywalker, but yeah. The EU is what I grew up with and I'm very invested in it - - it's been MY star wars since I was 8 or 9, so that's not going to change. I understand wanting to clean house and slim down canon, but the fact that the world was so huge and complicated and connected was a big part of the appeal to me. Official canon is so... small now. I'm not MAD its not canon anymore but I wish they would write more in that world.
