Flirting with Dorian was my fem!Lavellan's favorite hobby, even knowing it wasn't going anywhere, then I remembered oh wait, Cullen is available to ladies. That was my big disappointment in the game, I couldn't romance Cullen as a male (and playing on console took mods off the table). But meh, it's not like I haven't played a girl in games before to get some, not gonna stop now.

I'm horrible, all I play are elf rogues in Dragon Age (except for DA2, but I have a mod that actually makes the Hawke/Amell family all elves). I was really underwhelmed with DW rogues in Inquisition though, in the first two I could pretty much leave my rogues on auto-pilot and babysit my healer, and eventually it was just "oh look, the fight's over". Inquisition made me actually pay attention to the little shits, but at the same time, you abuse crafting and masterworks enough and a rogue can just go through everything solo on nightmare.

But yes, elf rogues <3

I've heard good things about the Cullen romance! I was actually torn between him and Josephine once I realized Cass & Dorian were out of the picture for me. If I can figure out how to drastically cut down the time it takes for me to beat Inquisition, I might eventually try his romance too. What'd you think about it?

I'm with you on rogues, though; Dragon Age is actually the first game where I actively want to play as a mage because of how relevant it is to plot events (usually I'm all about mashing the attack button in fights, I'm horrible at strategy and almost always forget to use special attacks). But ugh, it killed me to not be able to unlock chests and doors without having to bring a rogue along with me. I'm so glad Inquisition made that a lot less necessary than the first two games.

I love the Cullen romance! I love his character arc in Inquisition in general though, because it's a realistic look at addiction and some of the troubles that come with overcoming it, and the part of me that likes realism in my fantasy loves it. But it's also adorkable to balance out the dark parts of his character arc.

I love mages in theory, but I can never play them effectively unless they're spellsword type mages. Like, find me a happy medium between "tanky but boring" arcane warriors and "exciting but fleshy" knight-enchanters, and that would be my perfect mage for gameplay purposes. Something that's just as comfortable raining fire and destruction down on everyone from a distance, but can hold their own in the melee if something slips through the line and comes at them. Rogues are fabulous to play though, because between stealth and the right skill upgrades, you can slip into and out of battle at will, and take out the jerkass trying to get all up in your mage's business.

...Also I have a thing for archer physique, so the fact Dalish are all pretty much canon as archers unless they're mages is just perfect for me, lbr.

Randomly jumping in here, but I read somewhere that Cullen was originally going to be a bi romance option. I'm kind of sad that it never happened, I feel like more options are better.

I heard about that, too. I'd have been thrilled to see it happen in the game, but at the same time, my headcanon for my primary Inquisitor's love life is already full of "fuck you game mechanics", so it doesn't bother me as much as it could have.
