Speaking as someone who watched The Dark Crystal as a kid, make sure that you wait until they're old enough to appreciate atmosphere. There are some pretty long stretches of world-building for world-building's sake in that movie that make it pretty dull for a four-year-old.

nah I'd wait till they were old enough to appreciate it. I'm under no delusions that kids who are too young to be going to school can appreciate or really enjoy things just because I enjoyed them when I was like 11
