In the handful of them I've ever read, I never thought they were any weirder than the show itself. I stay away from anything with a pairing though, so maybe I'm missing all the weird stuff?


I once considered writing a human AU of the series when I was a fandom newbie. Spongebob was a college student in a bird watching club. It was a weird concept.
