The Lies of Locke Lamora, Scott Lynch

The Legend of Nightfall, Reichart.

I still have a guilty love for the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey. Herald Mage of Valdemar Series, the Oathbound (Vows & Honor) series, or Heralds of Valdemar (Talia) series.

Also, of course, the Elric Saga by Moorcock.

Man, I love the Gentleman Bastard Sequence, but I wouldn't really call them classic fantasy. Especially The Lies of Locke Lamora - it gets heavier on the traditional fantasy aspects by Republic of Thieves, but Lies is pretty damn close to straight up heist fiction with fantasy set dressing.

Fun as hell, but not likely to scratch an itch for high magic sword-and-sorcery stuff.
