You talk as if deleting fics (with or without a reason) wasn't a controversial topic per se.

I have no idea where you're getting that. Obviously it's controversial. My point was that some people were injecting unnecessary drama into the controversy by assuming that the only reason authors ever delete their fic was as a big "fuck you" to fans.

My point is just that people overreact when there's a talk about deleting fics and it's not directly related to getting published.
