Not gonna say there aren't some telling racial elements that belied Tolkein's (very much contemporary) attitude. BUT they aren't the ones you're talking about. What you're saying appears to be the usual Tumblr bullshit.

Not even Noelle Stevenson's awesome LOTR fanart can save your Tumblrina argument, OP.

1. That's not Noelle Stevenson's art. OP says who made the art right there in the secret. Learn to read.

2. Stop with the "Tumblrina" nonsense. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a "Tumblrina".

1. Then they're heavily ripping off Noelle Stevenson's style and general themes.

2. Assuming everything correlates to race relations in current America is very much an atypical Tumblrina attitude.

1. Stylistic similarities =/= rip-off.

2. Last time I checked most people do tend to interpret works of fiction through the lens of their own culture and society, which in OP's case is presumably American. This is not something exclusive to tumblr.

Agree with 1. And this fandom is particularly fond of being inspired by some artists. There is a lot of similarity in the art.

Not thinking past the initial comparison to their culture, or even considering the possibility that a different context exists is very typical to Tumblr.

It's very typical of humanity in general. Hardly Tumblr exclusive.

I mean, you're doing it right now.
