It's slightly derisive, but as white Anglo-Saxon Protestants are literally the most powerful, advantaged, privileged group in the history of human existence, I think you'd be hard pressed to call it a slur.

Oookay, that's a bit much. WASPs don't have yacht much power. If you're a poor WASP, you're still poor and still shat on. The cops won't shoot you in the street but people will still judge the fuck out of you.

The existence of class as a demographic doesn't erase the effects of race as a demographic though???

The term is kind of dated, because Anglo-Saxon really only refers to people from like England and that does not describe all white people. And Catholics aren't really any worse off than Protestants.
