Wait, is that why people are freaking out over Reylo? I thought the objection was that it may or may not be incestuous, depending on whether Rey is a Skywalker (or a Skywalker's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate, or whatever)?

I think the main objection is Kylo's an ass who kills villagers, blows up planets, and murdered his dad. And Rey seems like a decent person who shouldn't have to absolve that shit but ymmv.

Most fandoms don't. This one seems to. I guess because Kylo killed a fan favorite? IDK. I prefer Rey/Finn and Kylo/Hux, but I'll read a Rey/Kylo fic if its good.

Never have I ever seen anyone freak out over Reylo because potential incest. If anything, that fuels the fire for Reylo. The only argument against Reylo I have ever seen is "but Rey is a lesbian".

The argument I've seen is that it reinforces negative ideas about abuse being romantic, assholes being redeemed through love, etc etc. Basically setting feminism 100 years back and triggering half of tumblr.
