Re: whatcha reading?

Are you liking them? I just started to reread them and I was ready to temper my expectations, like "Well you adored these when you were 12 but they'll probably be really childish now" but I genuinely still love them! I especially like the portrayal of Qui-Gon--he's a genuinely admirable and interesting man and a great teacher, but his flaws aren't at all brushed over and they have real consequences. I love that he learns as much from Obi-Wan as Obi learns from him (although I keep wanting to shake them like EMPATHIC BONDS DON'T COVER EVERYTHING, *TALK* TO EACH OTHER YOU TURNIPS!!)

(here, have a comic about JA I've laughed over at least a dozen times since I found it: http://dakt37.tumblr.com/post/120503756729/just-a-thing-i-had-to-get-out-of-my-system )

The comic is perfect. I love the fight scene/dance panel.

I'm really enjoying the books too and I feel pretty much the same way about Qui-Gon. I admire him but I feel so bad for Obi-Wan every time he's acting all distant. I think I have a soft spot for characters who are desperate to prove themselves to another.
