If she considers it too big to be a favor, she may consider it too big to be a gift. The favor part wasn't what I was getting at, anyway. If you give her the option to pay you back over time, later, instead of making it like charity, she may be more comfortable accepting it.

Ah, that is one of the things I was thinking. Telling her she could just pay it back later. That makes sense. Maybe a combination of both gift and pay back.

If you're worried about the money part of it you can tell her you trust her to pay you back over time whether it's through money or helping you out or whatever else, she would have done that for you anyway right
