OP put their bits out there for strangers, with a cushion of anonymity between them and said strangers. OP's boyfriend probably has more intimate knowledge that removes the buffer between OP and whoever's on the other side of the cam. It's a violation of trust in their personal relationship, not the webcam-bits relationship.

And again I say, the only promise of a cushion of anonymity is the one the worker dreams up in their head to feel better about what they're doing. It is 100 percent imaginary. There is ALWAYS a risk someone you know or someone you'll meet will see or has seen you. If that bothers you, get out of the business.

Signed, a former sex worker.

That is so far from the point here. The point is not what you can expect from clients as a sex worker. The point is what you should be able to expect from partners in a romantic relationship.

Let me put it to you this way. Say you and your partner opened a joint checking account together, and then your partner took all the money from it and blew it on a big crack party. What you're saying here is basically the equivalent of saying, "Well, when you open a joint checking account, it's possible for someone to be irresponsible with the money. That's just a risk you take." It's true, but it's also massively besides the fucking point, which is that it's bad for your partner to betray your point and spend your money on a goddamn crack party and you're allowed to be angry about that.

Jesus fuck.
