(Anonymous) 2016-02-03 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)I am both a writer and a reader. I reply to all the comments I get, unless it's something really rude or wanky (and I've gotten that maybe once, and I just deleted it).
I also leave comments on other people's fics. Long, detailed comments. However, there are a few exceptions, and these are authors who never, ever reply to mine — although they’ve replied to other people’s. AFAIK we have not interacted elsewhere in fannish spaces. Fuck them, I won’t leave them comments anymore. If that’s petty, I own that and don’t care. Why should I praise you when you can't even be bothered to thank me?
Fucking lazy readers. If authors were as lazy as some of you fuckers are there'd be no fucking fanfiction.
Back at you. How much fucking effort does it take for the author to reply to everybody?
Authors shouldn't have to fucking beg to get reviews.
Nobody is owed reviews. If nobody's reviewing your work, maybe you should write better and knock off your entitled temper tantrums. Instead of throwing new ones, sometimes with SJ overtones, here or on Tumblr.
