I lived in Boston and I don't care. I do care about the Red Sox. But American football is not a sport I'm remotely interested in. I couldn't bring myself to even care last year when the Patriots were in the Superbowl. I pay so little attention when people started talking about this year's Superbowl I was confused because I thought it hadn't been a full year.

The only reason I know anything about football at all is because my mom and sister like it (and my dad liked it as well). But even with that, I'm with you-I hold no personal interest in it. The only time I'd ever watch a Super Bowl is if a musical artist I like plays the halftime show. And this year Colbert's doing a special post-Super Bowl episode, so I'll have to keep an eye on some of the game Sunday night so I can catch that episode, since the time the game ends can be uncertain.

But to the point of the OP's secret, my mom cannot stand the Patriots, so she's pretty thrilled they're not in the Super Bowl this year. Mind, her team isn't in there, either (she's a Dolphins fan), but their undefeated streak from their history is still intact, so that makes her happy.

Well, there was the inflatagate scandal last year where it was found that the Patriots under inflated their footballs. And no, Manning is not the Patriots quarterback. That would be Tom Brady.
