Huh...

I'd love to see concept art of just about every fusion imaginable. But I don't think I want to that particular fusion in canon.

I guess it's hard for me to not see fusion as something romantic (not necessarily sexual, though) because it's a thing between Steven and Connie, and also because of Garnet. And because Pearl seemed to love being fused with Rose, and how Greg tried to fuse with her and all that. It's not always, sometimes it's for utility, but when it's not there are romantic undertones to it, at least to me.

Also I like that it's something special between Steven and Connie, tbh.

If the Steven Universe crew released a book of concept art for all the potential fusions between the various characters (probably at the end of the series) I would buy the hell out of it.

IMO, I don't really see fusion as being 'romantic', just very intimate, so I would be pretty pumped to see what a fusion between Greg and Steven would be like. I don't think that it's ever going to happen though. I just can't really see Greg's curiosity about fusion overcoming his uneasiness about gem magic in general enough for him to ever ask (and the character could very well see it as being a romantic thing himself).

This secret reminded me of something I've been wondering about. If Steven tried to fuse with a human and a gem at the same time, would it work? We already know that gems who are already fusions can fuse even further, but what if Stevonnie tried to fuse with one of the gems? Presumably, Steven can fuse with Connie because he's half human, but would Connie's 100% human biology make Stevonnie incompatible with a full gem?

WHAT IF STEVEN FUSED WITH GREG AND PEARL?!

I prefer to see fusion as incomprehensibly alien, but in the show Greg certainly seems to understand it as romantic and sexual? Even if I want to see ALL THE FUSIONS this one really hits my incest squick because it's hard to imagine Greg seeing it any other way.

Yeah, especially after that whole episode where he tried to fuse with Rose because he thought it would prove he was relationship material.
