Quick stress relief?

(Anonymous) 2016-02-06 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
I'm having a rough time with my shitty shithole of a college. I'm daydreaming of yoga and meditation. But, I need some way of calming myself down in between classes, so...

Ideas for 15 minute or less calmdowns that I can do in a relatively public setting?

(masturbation is not a valid answer)

Cup your ears with your palms and listen to the sound.

Buy one of those adult coloring books. There are supposed to be really helpful for stress.

One of those adult coloring books! I have the Lost Ocean one myself, but I also really like the "stained glass butterfly" ones. Knitting/crocheting/some other form of yarn work, maybe?

Yeah the adult colouring books are fun! Do you have "fuck off" headphones? Put them on, go sit in a corner somewhere and colour in your book for 10 or so minutes. Maybe with some tea if you make it in a thermos that morning.

Take a brisk walk or climb some stairs. Exercise is excellent for managing stress.

Music usually helps me. I like to listen to it loud enough to drown out my thoughts. It turns into a kind of meditation when I focus on the lyrics or melody and shut everything else out.

With earplugs or earbuds, meditation might still be possible.

Masturba--

Okay why not download some retro games like Yoshi's Island or Pokemon and playing for 15 minutes to take your mind off things?
