I don't think you even need to like it "because" it's fucked up, you can just like it. I like loads of things in fiction that I don't think are "okay" in real life, and I don't think experiencing fiction requires a constant real life lens of what's problematic or not. You can just get into the story and like it for what it is. I agree that if you like it and then idolize it by saying this pairing is so romantic and amazing and you want to be in a relationship like that, you need a reality check, but it's okay to like yaoi (or other kinks) just because, too.

I agree. You don't need a justification for liking something. I only phrased it that way because AIRT said they like yaoi because it's awful.
