I don't know about Rick and Morty, but for BH6 the emotional backbone of the story is centered around Hiro and Tadashi, so it's not that hard to understand why it became popular.

If it was a het incest pairing, then I'd probably agree with you, because I have an irrational fear of inbred babies. But it's not, so sucks for you, OP :P

it's the same with Rick and Morty, really.

plus the creators even describe it as a platonic "will-they-won't-they dynamic" about whether Rick cares about his grandson (or doesn't enough to not abuse him).

fandom likes the dynamic, but it has no idea how to develop that and the abuse in a non-sexual, platonic way.
