I prefer the courting/dating to take place for a few months at least, with plenty of heart-to-hearts, spending time with each other and just generally getting to know the other person. I mean, you can't tell me that you know a person well enough in a few days to say that you love them. You may be in lust at that point, but love takes longer to manifest, in my opinion.

I agree in general that this is best but I'm writing a situation where the events of the fic take place over a few days and I was curious if there was a believable way to write them falling in love over that time-period (or at least get to the point where they realize they want to start a relationship and have deep affection for each other, and at least one character is thinking about the "love" word). What would you need to see for this kind of situation to be believable or acceptable to you?

Well, maybe if they knew each other from before, like childhood friends that grew up together, or maybe they had a crush on each other for awhile. I can possibly see love happening in a few days in those scenarios.
