#22: I don't know how to say this but, as a person of two different ethnicities, do you know how hard it is to fit in? D: Eventually, you just don't know what you are anymore (I've had people say, "OH, I didn't know you were THAT. Well. I don't consider you [insert ethnicity] anymore). DX Culture is important and when you try to identify with one side over the other, you're shunned. People have asked me what my ethnicity is and when I tell them, I either get the, "Oh. *vague look of disgust*" (THAT one hurts so much that I wish my parents were of the same nationality) or, "That's so cool!" If only it was so cool. :

But that means the people who are close-minded enough to give you a look of disgust because you have parents of different ethnicies are stupid. It doesn't mean people shouldn't have interracial marriages, it means people in general need to learn to accept their kids and not think that just because they belong to two cultures they're not good enough or something.

I can't possibly know how you feel, anony-mouse, (I'm as white as they come, and boringly British) but I just wanted to add that I think people who are of two different ethnicities are very cool <3 And gorgeous, to boot. People who look at you in disgust for that are utter asshats, and aren't worth your time in the first place.

I hope you come across more people who are accepting of who you are, and less of the twats.

Man, I can't begin to claim that I know how it is, but some of my friends tell me of their trouble identifying as one race or another because of multi-racial parents. Personally, I think asking a person's race is kind of a rude question, since it doesn't affect who they are as a person.

The problem is that you are letting other close-minded people cause you to feel this way when they are the ones with the issues. And your experience isn't equal to all people's experiences who are of mixed race. Not everyone has an identity crisis because of it. People shouldn't let the ignorance of others dictate who they choose to love.
