58: I also cried while reading it... for multiple reasons. It was sad and I try to accept what most other fans say ("This was the only way it could have ended") but I can't help being disappointed. The last three books were a rushed by King so he could just get it done and it breaks my heart. The comics are giving me some faith though.

I think I may have completely fogged up my thoughts in that statement. Though I do think the last three appeared more rushed than the others, I am referring more to the quality of writing than the events and how they play out. I have been a fan for a few years but even then I'm still a relative newbie to those who have been around since the original version of The Gunslinger came out, so I don't have a very high horse to sit on or anything :)

Okay, I think I get what you mean. King's general prose isn't, in my opinion, as good as his DT series, but he does slip a bit towards the end. I think I noticed it myself more in Wolves of Calla than anything... there was so much buildup and I was ready for it to be over long before it actually ended.
