I know from personal experiences and horror stories that for straight women, at least, you mostly have guys who just want a "good time." Yeah.

I think this is probably true for the majority of the userbase - man and woman, straight and gay. If you want a hookup, doing it through a dating site or app is the easiest way to do it.

But I do think, with meeting people online becoming increasingly "normal", more serious people are arriving in higher and higher numbers. Since I'm not straight, and I'm a lesbian, I also should say that for a lot of us gay women it's the only convenient way to meet other gay women in an area (probably similar for gay guys but there tends to be more male-targeted gay bars and stuff with lesbian places and events far more sparse) so meeting more serious people is fairly easy. Not that there aren't loads of hookups and threesome requests, though...
