Re: What's your side interest you love a chance to talk about?
(Anonymous) 2016-02-07 01:25 am (UTC)(link)The biggest story in my head right now is an urban fantasy where the main character has a god in her head who's otherwise been lost to history and his own memory entirely. (Godhood has always been a tricky business in this world; it's partially a 'gods need faith to survive' thing and partially aggressive competition, plus a few other odd factors, and most gods have either died out or faded away. He tried to fade into his element, but it went wrong somehow.) She has all these religious rituals that she has to follow or Bad Things will actually happen, but she doesn't know why and the god doesn't remember why half the time, and there is literally no one else in the world who can help them figure it out. A big part of my character-building for her is working out how she fits those rituals into her everyday life, which was normal up until a couple years ago, and how she explains some of the stranger ones away to everyone around her.
