Step 1 is where the problem is. Who even does that any more? I'm sure it is done, but it's not exactly a thriving art form these days.

Idk if its a thriving art form but I have definitely known people who do it as a hobby - my local rec center used to have belly dancing classes. Idk, google for stuff like that near your area,

I went to one last year! It was hosted by my mother's best friend's aunt and performed by her and her students, to raise money for cancer treatment I believe. It was absolutely stunning and yeah, bellydance is pretty popular? Have you tried reseaching it in your area? I bet you can find something.

If not, there are always instructional DVDs.

There used to a bellydancing school in my neighborhood. I had a friend in grad school who was in a bellydancing club. I saw a performance at a street festival just a couple of years ago. It's a thing.

actually where I live there has been a revival of bellydancing as erotic entertainment for men (aimed at people from muslim backgrounds) at shisha-bars.
