Adults doing it to themselves I have no problem with. I can't imagine an adult wanting the pain, but if an adult wants to do it for whatever reason I don't care. But doing something to a child that isn't medically necessary is wrong. You don't take off part of someone's body when it doesn't need to be removed without consent.

Of course, I get pissed off at men who bring it up in discussions of FGM in a "what about the men kind of way." Especially when the FGM discussion isn't about the mild forms of female circumcision that are equivalent to male circumcision but is actually about the horrible, sexist, mutilating kinds. But circumcision, regardless of gender, of a baby in my mind is wrong.

Out of curiosity, what type of female circumcision is "mild"?
