+1, i really like this show but i can't help but feel disappointed about how underdeveloped chloe is, i saw this on tumblr (http://amaryllis-arts.tumblr.com/post/129748203848) and i hope they end up adding this kind of dimension/layer to her on the show. i heard the show was originally planned to be aimed at teenagers/adults but they ended up not going with that route

Secret OP: Yep... Me too. I haven't watched any other shows since Korra S1, but I hear that many kid's shows lately have been amazing (Steven Universe, Gravity Falls etc), but ML is just... I really feel that I'm not the target audience watching it, and that makes it sorta uncomfortable to watch, I guess. All while I feel like since I'm so obviously not their "real" audience, so I shouldn't really complain about it.

I don't feel fully as bad complaining about Chloe though, I think she sets up a stereotype that while it not be as harming as racial ones, it can cause a divide among younger kids. I remember when I was a kid, me and my friends had this vision of the "popular" girls as some shallow bitches and she definitely plays into that.

ayrt:

yes definitely, i was thinking that too when i was typing up the previous post. i also remembered going through that notion when i was young.

childrens' minds are unconsciously influenced by the media they consumed and that's why i really hope the staff of ml start developing chloe soon. i believe, the longer chloe is portrayed in a one-dimension manner, the harder it is for children to believe there is a 'good' side to chloe as they were continously fed the idea that she is a 'bad' person. especially since she's disliked by the characters they do like.

i also hope when/if chloe gets a redemption episode/arc, that she doesn't revert back, since currently all the episodes of ml can be played in whatever order, so the chance of her just reverting back after one episode is highly likely, unless the staff decides to add a major storyline that exceeds one episode.

sorry this got awfully long, mainly because i really enjoy this show but this part has always bothered me.
