Everyone loves them, but I HATE these episodes, and my heart sank when i read there was a new one coming up. The episodes don't add anything to the overall story arc and I don't see the point of more now we know it's Ice King's/LSP's fan fic. Also I hate the voices, especially the one for Cake.

S!B this is petty af and it's not as if there's a lot of episodes.

My petty AF reason for disliking this is that Cake is a cat, not a female dog. And I always hated it when every animal was male by default except one "feminine" animal with eyelashes and a bow on it.

(I did like that they parodied this in Bugs with the male ladybird, but I didn't like that most of the other insects were male anyway.)

"A Bug's Life." And yeah. Madeline Kahn as Gypsy was pretty fun, though.

I feel the same with the whole "wish there were more female dogs and/or dogs owned by girls." Because I grew up watching a lot of TV saying only boys have pet dogs while girls only have cats. I'm a dog person, so this made me frown a lot as a girl.

I find it weird that, for the whole underlying message of girl power these episodes try to get across, they always seem to put Fionna in some sort of "girl problem" situation rather than the adventures Finn has with Jake.

I don't hate them but I guess I'm not a fan either.

I'm neutral to them. But I do think they offer some insights on the characters. I felt like Marceline's version of Marshall Lee showed a lot about how she felt about herself. So there's something towards 'the overall story.'

I think the episodes are cute. Genderswap is a trope I enjoy though, so I fully admit bias.

I would argue that they do expand the main universe a little bit, because we get both Ice King and Marceline's perspective with the story telling.

You aren't alone, OP. I've always hated these episodes. But then, I've always hated the body swap / gender swap tropes.

I don't think it makes sense that Fionna is wearing a tight skirt, when Finn is a very active character and is running around and stuff. Fionna should be wearing shorts or something that let her be active. It just seems like a stereotypical "this is a girl!" marker when it would actually be stupid and impractical to wear that on adventures.

Also, Cake should be a dog.
