The characters themselves. And no, it didn't ruin them, but considering the directions Masuda has been taking into incomprehensible crap, the two more "mythic" characters seem like they'd be first on the chopping block.

I don't know about ruined, but have you SEEN Wallace's outfit in ORAS? Talk about a dramatic change. I know he's flamboyant, but come on, guys.

(And I don't remember Wallace's in particular. I don't usually remember the outfits unless it's a favorite character. Wallace was always kind of unremarkable to me)

They haven't ruined the gen I through III characters, so why would they ruin these two?

OP here. They didn't really ruin the gen 3 teams but they rewrote them. And after what happened with the show and with Team Flare, it worries me that the more complex characters may get simplified.

Side note: I hope they make the games as remake of Platinum, not DP because man DP was shit. (even if I doubt it since ORAS failed to be emerald remakes but sigh, one can hope)

What would ruin them for you, OP? I remember disliking a few changes in Platinum (Cyrus snickering and only making the new world for himself, Mars developing much more of a temper and being more assertive), but...I dunno, I consider the remakes alternate realities of sorts.

I don't think that's what Cyrus was after in Platinum. He says that, but he later says that the player character and Cynthia will be in his new world, as well as some unspecified others. Likely it was him alone of Team Galactic, not him alone period.

Sadly, the show disregarded the followup and went with that one line as his entire motivation.
