Opposite of Above

For completeness, what is your fandom doing right? What fandom trends hit your id? Are you riding the popular pairing? Totally fine with woobies? You have a rairpair but at least all the fic is well written?

What do you love about your fandom?

My current fandom is great. Other than an occasional wanky post, mostly people let others enjoy what they enjoy in peace. There are a whole range of different interpretations of things, and we all just kind of agree to disagree. I know for a fact that off-Tumblr this fandom can get wanky. But the Tumblr section of my fandom is awesome and I've never been in a nicer fandom before.

I'm really loving that there's a place in my fandom where people can pick apart a terrible adaption and are doing so with well-reasoned arguments and long meta. I love meta.

So. Much. Analysis. I think a lot of it's crossover from Gravity Falls fandom, who're used to analyzing the hell out of things.

Also, the ship wars are confined almost exclusively to hating on two popular ships for supposedly romanticizing abuse. If you don't ship either of those things, you won't get shit on, even if your ship contradicts another popular ship.

I don't really feel good about any of my fandoms anymore. I like the source material, but the fandoms themselves just aren't fun.

Fandom's idea of what makes a pairing shippable as fuck tends to jibe with mine, which makes fandom a blast for me the majority of the time.

I adore AUs of almost every kind, and my current main fandom has a LOT of them.

About 90% of the time I love the prevailing fanon for a particular event or characterization or dynamic.

Good fic, good fan art.

We've gotten 3 oviposition fics in the last few weeks. That's pretty damned awesome considering it's a pretty rare kink in fic. We're a pretty ovi-friendly fandom in a general. I am very pleased with this trend.

I love that I am shipping a popular pairing for once since there is so much delicious fanart. Since it is Reylo, I'm looking forward to art for the next 3-5 years at least.
