I certainly wouldn't call what she's saying "speaking the truth", no. But I also would mainly chalk it up to the usual "think I know it all" attitude a lot of kids go through and shrug it off.

I don't think simply explaining why you'd disagree with that statement would read as "calling the kid out", though. If you went off on some huge foaming rant, maybe, that'd be one thing, but just stating your disagreement wouldn't read to me as picking on a kid or anything like that.
