...I think I agree, and I think my main point was SUPPOSED to be more like how it's an attention-whore playground, but clearly that is NOT what I typed. D8

Oh. Well, in that case, I agree with you. I'm even guilty of tripfaggin' on there every now and then, but yes. People seem to think they can become internet famous by self-spamming on /cgl/ constantly and also ripping down other cosplayers to make themselves feel better. :/

Though I don't think that's anywhere near as bad as /cgl/ being unable to separate a cosplayers private life from the hobby. I'm so tired of seeing screencaps of friends-locked LJ posts talking about pregnancies and other things that don't need to be public, let alone on /cgl/.

Ahhh, rant.

There was a shitton of drama between a couple of my friends-groups on there a while back...FORMER FRIENDS, TORN APART BY /CGL/. I rolled my eyes a lot at that point.

Oh my god yeah- I hate stuff like that, particularly because in the cases I've seen it's mostly things from 3+ years ago being used as evidence that "___ IS CRAZY". Nice try, but a lot can change in that time. :|
