I don't hate either, I'm just frustrated that so many of the things that have inspired my conscious gender-identity have come from outside my gender. I respect the men with those ideas, a lot, but I get frustrated when I see more women re-enforcing the stereotypes instead of helping to break them.

Chiho Saito was in charge of the manga, Kunihiko Ikuhara was in charge of the anime. The two were very different; the manga was much more conventional in reaffirming traditional gender roles, whereas the anime broke away from them far more. Try researching something yourself before assuming someone else's point is automatically wrong.
