Yeah I'm really confused about that. I can understand not liking them, not having any interest in reading them as an adult, but if you can't even see how amazing those books would be for kids to read?

(And IMO, getting the chance to read a good kids' book is 1000000x more valuable to a human life than getting the chance to read a good adult book.)
