Ehh there's nothing wrong with not liking smut.

Thinking people who do like/write it are "perving out" and looking down on them on the other hand....

The people writing smut do describe themselves as "perving out" or "sinning" or "being trash" or whatever the current trendy thing to say is, I don't come up with that stuff.

argh, I hate "sinning" and "sinner" so much as modern slang word. but on the other hand it's spot-on when it comes to the fucked up guilt-tripping culture tumblr brewed in places

I tend to think of it as people biting back against people who will try to shame them by owning it. Which is why I don't mind it much.

I think "owning it" means simply putting it out there and not give a shit. The truth is other people rarely give a shit either.

I roll my eyes every time someone shares their smut while making this whole number about their shameful naughty hobby that they're totally embarrassed about but not really at all tee hee lol.

It always makes me think of "I sinned in my pants" and I start laughing.

man i enjoy the sinning comments because it reminds of how much my old church would hate what i was doing and that gives me joy

Ugh, I just noticed this trend in one of my fandoms in recent weeks... "Rated for SIN!" becoming the new, "It's M for a reason!" or whatever other shit people put in the summary to advertise the fact that their fic has sex in it.

Sad to admit, I was just confused at first. I went in expecting something at least mildly scandalous, and the fic was just about two people who had no reason why they couldn't be in that sort of relationship having perfectly vanilla sex. And I was all, "Sin? What was the sin?" until several fics later. Cue belated realisaton and facepalming.

(I am not on tumblr, in case this is not apparent.)
