Not in the UK it's not. It's actually pretty average. I'm 5'8 and I'm taller than a lot of the people I know, including guys.

I live in the UK too- maybe where I live in the sticks is full of freaky giants, but we rag pretty heavily on our male friend who's only 5'10" (my height) for being a runt. Most of the guys here are about 6'.

According to Wikipedia, source of all knowledge in the WORLD, average height of a UK male is 5'9.6". He's about 2.5" below that. He's not freakishly tiny, but he's not average, either.

5"7' is five inches and seven feet, so. You know. Not small at all.

I would think 5'7" is on the shorter side of average, and that the adjective 'small' would get annoying after a while if it was used too often.

In what region of the world? 5'7" here and I'm taller than a lot of girls I know and most of the guys I know are about my height.

ok, i worked this out. he's 170 cms tall. that's about my height or a wee bit taller. i guess next to a giant like jeremy clarkson, he does look tiny. but so would anyone of normal height or less.

i agree with the secret writer - it's lazy if all you can think to write about when describing someone is their height. i shudder when i read any fic that uses phrases like: the shorter man/the taller man/the younger man/the older man, etc etc. erk!

In some countries, yes, in some countries, no. When I was in Glasgow, I thought everyone else was pretty short, but then again, I'm 5'10 and above average height for Scotland. So 5'7 for Britain is probably not that small at all, and besides, like johnnypurple said, putting him next to Jeremy Clarkson isn't helping.
