I saw a 75-year-old lady cosplaying at AX last year. she was dressed as Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle, and it was brilliant.

I'm going to turn 24 just before I cosplay a 9-year-old boy. my best friend, also a cosplayer, is 26 and still going strong, mostly cosplaying Shonen Jump heroes.

in other words, if you've got the face (read: no wrinkles! XD; ) then you can cosplay whomever you want for a very long time. Even when you get older it's just a matter of finding the appropriate characters. =D

IAWTC. One of the best cosplays I've ever seen was a 60-something woman dressed as Uncle Iroh from Avatar. As long as you work within your general age range, you can cosplay for many years to come!

Throwing in my two cents: I once saw a fan-friggin'-tastic lady dressed as Kaede (InuYasha) at a local convention who had the look, the walk, and, most importantly, the attitude down pat (you should've seen her glaring down the 10000000 Inuyashas there... XD), and also, there is an older gent who frequents my state who dresses up as Jet Black and walks around with an Ein plushie. Very classy. x3 Go in character and it'll be great.
