Look, I know it's a totally novel concept in fandom, especially FFVII fandom, but it is okay to not be girly and still be "gorgeous". Besides, did you even look at his original art?

The term "girly" seemed to be the best at the time for separating the two out. Obviously, it was an ill-chosen word. I'm sorry.
I was familiar with his original art long before I was familiar with fanart. Girly-man? No. Girly-LOOKING-man? Yes. So are 90% of ALL Final Fantasy characters. It's the art style.

I just have a very specific mental image of Vincent, and it tends to roll away from the vast majority of fandom's. I gotta say, though, judging by your comments around the post, I totally and completely agree with your characterization and general interpretation of him. You sound cool D:

NOT. WANT. I liked this game better when it was called Metal Gear Solid and didn't take itself seriously, Square, kthxbye.
That's totally understandable. I think everyone has at least one character like that, and it's difficult sticking to your guns when the rest of fandom is going OMG YOU SUX D<. It's always good to have different views on people, though, it brings new perspective and new life to fandom.

Yeah, Dirge of Cerberus is my least favorite thing in the fandom world right now. I actually bothered to beat the fucker, too.
You know what the biggest problem is? I have such a different view of Cid/Vincent than the majority of its fans, let alone the people who apparently violently hate it (wtf@those people, it's a harmless and awesome pairing).
