As someone who's been on the DW boat since Eight, I'm not gonna lie. I can't tell you who wrote/directed what. Do people seek out the credits after disliking an episode and then start a tally? Or can they tell? Genuinely confused.

There is a lot of hate for Moffat's era in general. People really liked RTD's stuff and they hated a lot of the changes. There are some differences in different series' that seem clear to me. The Doctors are very different. Ten was very, very human. Too much so for me. Eleven and Twelve are both much more alien. The humor is different. The storylines are different (Moffat has a lot more twists and connections between things that you only find out at the end, and I love that style of storytelling).

Hm. Yeah Ten's at the bottom of my scale if we're ranking nu!Who Doctors. And I don't mind the overarching plots as long as everything gets resolved in the end. XD

I think it's more by eras. Moffat's scripts when RTD was show-runner were well-received, while RTD got the fan hate as show-runner. Then Moffat took over as show-runner (starting with the first Amy Pond episode), and now he gets the fan hate.

A lot of fans don't like that DW is such a silly, shallow, romp of a children's show. They want it to be smarter, and whoever runs it gets complaints. But it's always been a goofy show.

Seriously. While I do love the more serious arcs and episodes, the general ridiculousness overall is one of the things I love best about it. It's why I was a bit :/ faced about Rose sort of... overstaying her welcome? I guess is the nicest way I could put it. It took this goofy-sometimes serious-weird science show and made it all about Rose and the Doctor.

I loved her with Nine, though.
